Irene Cara, ’80s pop star behind ‘Fame’ and ‘Flashdance’ theme songs, dies at 63
Irene Cara, the artist entertainer most popular for featuring in and belting the title tracks from the 1980s films Acclaim and Flashdance, has passed on. She was 63.
Cara kicked the bucket at her home in Florida, said her marketing specialist, Judith Moose, who declared the news on Cara's web-based entertainment account on Saturday. She said a reason for death was "presently obscure."
"Irene's family has mentioned security as they process their melancholy," Moose composed. "She was a delightfully gifted soul whose inheritance will live perpetually through her music and movies.
Cara was naturally introduced to a common Puerto Rican and Cuban family in the Bronx neighborhood of New York City. As a kid entertainer, her credits remembered a normal spell for the 1970s youngsters' show The Electric Organization.
However, it was Notoriety, the 1980 film about a gathering of skilled youthful hopefuls in New York attempting to send off their vocations in the ferocious performing expressions world, that sent off Cara to fame.
